Set along Costa Rica's North Pacific coast in Guanacaste, Hacienda Pinilla is one of the country's most established gated resort communities. Designed by acclaimed golf architect Mike Young, Hacienda Pinilla's 18-hole, par-72 course plays up to 7,200 yards and follows the natural contours of the land through tropical forest and Pacific scenery. The course has received Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary designation in recognition of its environmental stewardship and habitat conservation practices.

Outdoor pursuits are woven into daily life at Hacienda Pinilla. More than 45 kilometers of mountain biking trails cross ranchland, forest, resort areas, and coastline, with routes for beginners through experienced riders. The equestrian center offers access to approximately 16 kilometers of countryside trails and beachfront riding. Tennis and pickleball, surfing, hiking, fitness, and wellness experiences add to the community's year-round recreation.
